Aug 10, 2024

Washington D.C. [US], August 10: KTVH reported that Mr. Trump's Boeing 757 plane had mechanical problems that forced the plane to make an emergency landing at an airport about 172 kilometers east of Bozeman. The Republican presidential candidate was scheduled to speak at an event at Montana State University in Bozeman at 10 p.m. that same night.
There were no reports of injuries as the plane made the emergency landing, and former President Trump posted a video on Truth Social claiming to have arrived in Montana, although he did not mention the plane's mechanical problems or the emergency landing.
KTVH added that the Secret Service thoroughly screened the airport in Billings before Mr. Trump boarded another private plane to Bozeman.
NBC News quoted an announcement from the US Secret Service confirming that Mr. Trump's plane landed in Billings after experiencing mechanical problems.
The Secret Service said the incident was not related to any security issue.
At Montana State University, Mr. Trump spoke alongside Senate candidate Tim Sheehy against Democratic incumbent Jon Tester.
The results of the Montana Senate race could tip the balance in the US Senate if the Republican candidate wins, giving the Republicans control of the upper chamber.
On the same day, presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz campaigned in the battleground state of Arizona, according to USA Today . Harris' campaign has no plans to visit Montana.
